Writing and Thinking Clearly (and Usability too)
Hi, I am starting this blog to share tips about communicating clearly mostly in writing. But I am also kind of a Usability buff and like to share my Usability Fails that I find sort of like everywhere. By trade, I am a professional technical writer/systems engineer/process analyst/business analyst with 30 years of experience. But I also am a creative writer -- I wrote two blogspot blogs for 4 years, and I placed in the top 10% in a essay writing contest fun by Anthony Bourdain. Also have written poetry here and there (won an award in college for my poem), and have worked for a tech magazine (one of the few times I got a byline). I have also dabbled in user acceptance testing and training. Lots of training, like on the side. I was a consultant for a long time, and when I showed up to do a tech writing contract gig, there was often 'Oh can you do this training too?" thrown in. Hopefully my tips will be helpful to someone.
